Now York, March 21. In an interview accorded to the United Press Association, Mr. Rumanian (President of Hie British Board of Trade) said: ''Peaceful preparations as a means to a military end—war—will noven again be tolerated by England, France, Russia, and Italy, nor can we submit to 'most favoured' clauses in commercial treaties being utilised to the detriment of our Allies. We must prevent Germany again raising her helmet. Wo object to her using the resources of her commercial relations with us 'for the purposes of aggression. Wc - are obliged to Germany for warning us of hor ••intention to establish a Customs ■Union of .the Central Powers on aggressive lines. This threatened ■ economic war would bo a permanent barrier to Europe's peaceful . development. The British Empire will never attempt a commercial tyranny, but will.Tesisfc.it by every means."
