The suggestion was made at Saturday's meeting of the Auckland Golt Club that members of various athletio and sports clubs in the Dominion havo it in their power to lighten the tedium of idle time for soldiers in Egypt by sending them the wherewithal to play their favourite games. Mr. N. R, Macintosh stated thai New Zealand men in Egyptian camps were feeling tho need of sporting materials. They often had time on their hands, and tennis courts, golf courses, and cricket grounds were at their disposal, but it was difficult to procure the equipment for tho games. He suggested that many members of New Zealand clubs had sparo golf clubs and balls, or tennis racquets and balls, or cricket hats and balls and wickets, or boxing glove, -which they would willingly send away for tho benefit of tho troops, if only some organised effort were mado for their, collection. No doubt one or other of tho agencies which bad already sent goods for solrliers would be willing to arrange for the carriage of sporting requisites. Tho president, Mr. A.
