a NEW ZEALAND ENGINEER'S 'PM* VATEOPINION OF THE STUD& , BAKER. T.Te fourist Motor Co., Hnstings, know. Ins that we aw closely interested in Studebaker motors, have forwarded to us a copy n£ a lengthy business letter sent theuV by Mr. Allan 11, M'Lcan, tbe en. sineer of their firm, wlio is at present in Detroit, investigating the claims of tho 1918 models of the great American auto, mobile manufacturers. Ihe lourist Motor Co. have very courteously given us permission to publish extracts from the letter, and we ext:act the following para-' efanli as likely to interest owners and prospective owners of Studebaker cars:- ' My honest opinion about the Studebaker car is that it is tho best value for money vm tlie American market, and as far as linisdi arid workmanship are concerned it is second to none. I consider that we would be foolish to take up the agency for any higher priced car that is built here because if we repaint tue Studouaker and equip it-<vitli. wire wheels it would bo equal to the Miuerva in appear, ance and quietness of running. The en. sine is the cleanest designed one that I havo inspected." It may be explained that' Mr. M'Leau's mission to America was-to secure the agency of a liigh-prieed American car to take the place of tae firm's Silent Knight Minerva agency. There is a good market in liawkes Bay for the verv best car obtainable, regardless of price! Mr. M'Leau's honest opinion regarding the Studebaker is that there is no American car on the market better than the Studebaker at any price. The hve-soater touring Studebaker (i-cylinder, 03 h.ni with electric sclf-.-t-rter and eleofrio fights, sells in New Zealand for .£3U, The three-seatcr Studebaker, with same equipment, being priced at ,£335.
