A FRENCH AVIATOR
WOUNDED AT VERDUN

Paris, March 17. Gunnieyer, the French aviator, has been wounded at Verdun. He started on his daily hunt-'on an -unfamiliar '- ma-, chine, and engaged two German ma* chines. He brought down the first and attacked the second,, but misjudged the : speed of his own machine. The enemy riddled Gunmeyer's aeroplane -with bullets, and he was wounded on the face and arm. ■ He. landed safely,. however, using one arm. His wpunds are not dangerous, but he will be incapacitated for weeks.
NEW ZEALAND AIRMAN KILLED.
London, March 17. John Ritchio Laidlaw, of New Zea--land, was flying at Hendon this morning, when the machine fell 250 feet and Laidlaw was killed.
