PIGEON-RACING
A race was flown from Waiouru under the auspices of the Hutt Valley Homing Pigeon Society during the week-end, the estimated air-line being 129 miles. The rosults were as follow: —W. J. Smith's Half-caste, velocity 846 yards per minute, 1; Whitehead and Booth's Corroboree, 833 yards, 2; C. D. and 0. Abrahall's Greenwood, 829 yards, 3; A. and J. Booth's Cruiser, 4; B. M'Mahon's Volunteer, 5; Thomas and Clarke's Silver Rook, 6. A special prize, awarded by Mr. Denby for the highest aggregate points, is to be divided between Whitehead and Booth and W. J. Smith, eaoh of whom secured 8 points.
