RAILWAYMEN'S PAY
RESOLUTION AT PALMERSTON. liy Tele°T:'Dh—Press Association. Palmerston N., March 17. At a mass meeting of the railway men the following resolution was carried unanimously:— ; ' ■ "That the' members of the A.S.R.S. and. E.F.C.A., comprising practically l the whole of the second division, consider that the reply to our claims for an increase in wages is too yague, and urge the leaders of_ the two organisations to meet the Minister of Railways, and point out that we are unanimous m our claim for an increase of at least one shilling per day to the whole of the second division,-'and that granting of the increase to any one section <3 men and not to another will be combated to our utmost resources; also, wo urge our leaders to arrange a meeting as early as possible, with a view to speeding'up the federation between the A.fc.R.S. _ and, the^'E.F.C.A.—although theso unions havo had differences in the past, these have been swept aside in a common adversity. ' We have complete confidence in the executives of the respective spcieties, and'pledge ourselves to support any action defemed necessary in the furtherance / of their claims."-
