Isaac Covell, railway signalman, at 'Fleaford West box, went on to the line to warn the driver of a train of a probable obstruction, when another train caught him. The engine knocked him into the four-footway, ami tho whole •train passed over him without inflicting any injury. He was ablo to proceod on foot to bis home. The. R.11.5.P. Merionethshire has ar. rivod in London, having among its cargo a now flagstaff for Ivew Gardens, measuss ing 215 ft. and weighing 18 tons, which has been picscnted by the Government of British Columbia. It is ono of the largest flagstaffs in the world, and ia inudo from tho. trunk of a Douglas fir tree.
