Advice come to hand by the Sydney mail to the effect that tho Leitrim (the Union Company's now geared turbine sti'eamer) came into collision with the British steamship Mechanician on February 21, scarcely a month after she passed out of " the builders' hands. It was necessary to discharge 4000 tons of cargo preparatory to docking. The Leitrim loaded tat Liverpool for Adelaide, Melbourne,, Sydney, and Brisbane.

It is reported that th© famous steamer Anglo-Oalifornian, which put up Buch a thrilling tight against a German submarine during the earlier part of the war, has 'been sold to the Cunard Line for £215,C00. She was built at Sunderland in .Wl2, and is of 7333, tons gross. .
