Colonel Freetli, who distinguished himself recently in an attack in Enst Africa, is an old Masterton boy, ; and a son of the late Mr. C. .1. Freoth (states bur Masterton correspondent). lie went to South Africa as a sergeantmajor with the Second Contingent at the time of the Boer War.
