VICTORIA COLLEGE
At last night's • meeting of the Victoria .College Council, Mr. Clement • r ■ Watson.'presided, and there were also present: Dr. G. E. Anson, Dr. C. M.. Hector, .Professors Rankine Brown and Adamson, Messrs. W. S. La Trobo, W. H.j Morton, William Ferguson. T. R. Fleming, and: R.' A. 'Wright, M.B. . ' ■ The' Public Trustee advised that the sum of £500 was available from tho T. G. Macarthv Trust, and if was decided to deposit the amount with the; Public Trustee for two years at 4 per cent. It was mentioned that of the sum of '£700 received last year'.from the National Endowment Fund,'a, sum of £300 bad been voted to the Workers' Educational Association for .tutorial classes. and a sum of £400 retained as a fund, for the Chair of Economics to be established. It was decided . that the amount received from the National Endowment Fund dnrincr the current year should bs allocated in the same man- ' ner. ; ■ On the recommendation of the Fmnrce and Business Committee_it was decided to tako into consideration a-proposal to open class lectures to the public. It was. decided that a charge of Is. 6d. ' should 'be made for the calendars : supplied by the University. ,
