The position in regard to export of ffOKtsu meat from Auckland lias been slightly relieved by an increase in tlio allotment of space 111 one o* this month's steamers. Both the Southdown and llorotiu works will continue to receive stock until about tile middlo of next week, and it is possible that even then it may not be necessary to oloso tlii works. . Slnue tha beginning of last week tho slaughtering of stock at both works lias been reduced to about half tho normal capacity, and operations at the Williugftrei works also have been greatly ro-, stricted. Both companies aro awaiting tho allotments of space in the April steamers before they can determine the extent of their future operations.
