The following letter, addressed to the, - Jmirnmn of the Victoria College Coun*U, . .was read ,at the_ monthly meeting ; OS the council last night, and received by tho meeting without comment: —; 1 "Dear sir—All hooks, eto., belonging to me have been removed from the room i formerly used by me at the college/ with i the oxception of:.(a) Surplus books be-, 1 longing to. the College Library, stored I'; fcliire for'convenience, and (h) a small ■: stock-(not exceeding 300) of my. books, • eto., likely to he useful to Mrs. Slac-: i phfil's and Miss Baker's students this i year, which I have placed at Mrs. MacpLul's private disposal: as a loan. 1 can hare them removed at once to Mrs. ■ Macphail's private addross if, for any reason, the council wishes me to do so.
