THE SYDNEY BOAT. ' The Manuka, which on account of a delay in Sydney, is running two days behind time io expected, to arrive from the New South Wales port this afternoon. She i 6 bringing 1063 tons of cargo, and will berth at Queen's Wharf No. 1 south. To-morrow ehe will leave for Lyttelton, and after discharge of remainder of her cargo will withdraw from the service for overhaul, the Mocraki taking' up her running. ARAWA Pit Oil LONDON. The R.M.S. Arawa, which left London for Wellington, via Cape Town and Australian ports oil January 27, is expected in port about 10 o'clock to-night. Captain Flemiug, superintendent for Mercantile Marine at- Auckland, notifies that as the small or lower beacon of the leading marks for crossing the bar in entering Kaipara Harbour has p«>ved to be of no assistance, it "will be remcvea on and after' March 20, 1916. The leading marks will then be two instead of three. Advice is also given that the black can buoy marking Hikutu Rock, 1 Tokomarn Bay, was replaced by a black cone buoy, on February 15. Magnetic bearings, from buoy: Maratiri N. 67deg. W., distant, 2.1 miles; Hikutu Rock S. 20deg. W„ distant one cable.

The Westralia from Sydney, via Auckland, will bo at Gisborne to-day. Instead of leaving that port in the evening she will not get away for Napier until daylight to-morrow morning. -She takes a draught of Reinforcements from Gisborne to Napier. Sho is due here on Friday. Tho Rosamond is expected in port, from Napier to-day. She will bo dispatched on Thursday for Timaru, Oama-ru, and Bluff. It ha-s' now been definitely decided to dock tho Kauri at Lyttelton for cleaning and painting. As a conseauence she-will not leave that port until Thursday, ar. riving hero on Friday. She has a num. her of motor-cars on board for Wellington.

The Canterbury Shipping- Company; now states that the Breeze is expected in from Wanganui to-morrow. The arrangement whereby the Storm was to oomo in placo of tho Breeze has been cancelled. The Breeze will leave tho same day for southern ports.

After undergoing an overhaul and cleaning on tho Patent Slip the Greymouth Harbour Board's dredge Mawhera camo off the cradle yesterday morning. Sha left last' evening for Nelson, and after doing a month's dredging there returns to tho West Coast. Tho decision of ' tho Grey Harbour Board to let tho Mawhera drodge at Nelson instead of-returning to the Coast at once Is causing-a; good deal' of heated fiiEcussion in tho shipping community at the We3t Coast port. It is thought that there is ample work for tho veasel at hw. homn port without hiring her to a neighbouring harbour boara. The Northern Steamship Company'» steamer Rarawa is due here on Friday, when she will go on to tho Patent Blip for'overhaul. It is hopod that the t work will bo finished in time for har to- leave the same evening for New Plymouth. She is scheduled to leave New Plymouth for Onellunga on Saturday night.
