The continued dry iVeatlier has caused a serious falling-off in' the milk .supply to the Mastcrton dairy factory. Some of the suppliers are now milking only once a day. The butter exported .by the company during' the past season was 5G tons 7 ciVt. Considerable quantities of butter are now being stored, or sold locally. I'iie directors arc paying out Is. 3d. per pound for butter-fat for the month of Jlarch.

A number, of Masterton residents have lately been suffering from a complaint similar to- that which has affected the men in the Featherston Camp. Members of the -Qpalci Rifle Club won £56 Is. in prize-money at tlio AVairarapa Rifle Association's.meeting last week.

Captain Donald Simson, who is at present in Mastcrton, intends giving an illustrated address in the concert hall of tile new' municipal buildings on Saturday evening next.

A party of Jlasterton ladies, headed bv Mrs.' W. M. ICebbell, have been assiduously working for months past at the making of bandages for uso at the. front. Tip till date no fewer than 16,000 bandages have been sent away.

Returned soldiers nl'e'to he entertained at a garden party at Mr. W. Howard Booth's Carrington House at Carterton on March- 23. The AYairarapa Automobile Association is providing cars for the conveyance of soldiers to the party.

Considerable activity is being displayed in the election of a carnival queen for the Wairarapa. It is anticipated that several thousands of pounds will Be raised for the patriotic fun9s by this means.

Private H. Sewell, _ who returned wounded from Gallipoli some months ago, lias again reported at,Trentliam for active service.
