WAR VISIONS OF SEERS

THE 1916 PROPHECIES. The almanacs compiled by the loading prophets, astrologers, and seers of Europe forecasting the most important events of tho year 1916 havo been published. Among tliein arc those of Professor Zadkiol, Professor Raphael, and "Old Moore," of London. Tho usual annual published by the celebrated palmist, Mine. dc Thebes, of Paris,' is delayed. Mmc. do Thebes, however, is uttering prophecies concerning tho future in lior usual picturesque aiul impressive manner. These forecasts are extremely interesting because they deal with the present year, which is ccrtawv ito bo filled -with momentous hnppenings. Rut none of the seers were ablo to foresee the great war which is sweeping the earth—can they now foretell tho end of a war tho beginning of which they could not foresee? Perhaps the most remarkable and definite prediction regarding the war is that it will come to an end on May 22. Another prophet calculates that the war will end ill April. This fact is brought out by a study of tho horoscope of General .Toffre, the famous French Commander-in-Chief. After analysing all tho heavenly movements and combinations governing tho life of General ,Toffre (luring 19.16 in a most thorough manner, the horoscope concludes that ho is destined to become a victor in April. This is particularly indicated bv "the trine aspect of the moon with Mars both at the Solar Revolution _ and at tho Lunar Progress." After this period, however, the heavens aro said to foreshadow either ill-health, accident, or trouble for General .loilrp irorn "May to July. Piofessor Raphael says that "the p:isI sage of Jupiter to Aries and his trino aspect to the planet Mars is a strong indication of success to the arms of the Allies in April."

A serious disaster in the theatre is to occur in June. Zadkicl says that there will be a slump in Wall Street during this month. Another earthouake shock in Italv, that is to last five days, is promised in July. "Saturn I crossing tho ascendant of the Kaiser," it is said, will end the career of that distinguished potentate during this month. August will be the ainlncky month for the Tsar of Russia, and he is warned bv Raphael to be on his guard against a revolutionary plot during this month. The trouble is owing to the fact that "Uranus is in' Aquarius, the ruling sign of Russia, and its onposition to the sun is not favourable to the Tsar."

Zatlkiel gives us the information that Ireland will probably get Home. Rule, at last, in August. Poland and Persia will find their national aspirations satisfied at about the same time. It is going to be a very bad year for Germany, according to all the astrologers, and the terrible climax will come in September, a disaster even more serious than defeat in war. "On September 18," says 0110 noted astrologer, "Saturn reaches the opposition of tlie place of the sun at the foundation 'of the German Empire in 1870, and this transit will complete the disruption of the empire—if it should have held, together so long." There will be an upset of the British Government in October. "Saturn very near the mid-lieaven at the new moon of September 27 threatens some dissensions in the Cabinet and trouble in high circles," the astrologer tells us. Revolutions are promised ill Spain and j Hungary in November. . Another attempt will then ho made on tlio King of Spain's life. , Hungary will at this time, tlio astrologer thinks, finally achieve its independence from the v,'rocked Austrian Empire. The Kaiser and the Crown Prince of Germany are stated to bo threatened by "imminent overthrow and punishment for their crimes at this period. Prussia will not bo a healthy country for some time to come, and may be scourged by a widespread epidemic." Unseemly scenes will be witnessed in the_ United States Senate during the spring quarter, the astrologers tell us. Venerable Senators will strike one another on the nose and roil upon t tlio floor- tosether. A serious dispute ' bc-\ tween England and the United States is predicted for the summer. Famines will occur in Holland and Switzerland. The outlook for the United States during the coming summer is said to ho a had one. The astrologers beliove that the United States will be at war with Japan or .some other country during this period. Misfortune for Reigning Families. Groat excitement will bo caused by the discovery of a submarine base maintained by a warring European Power upon the American coast. It will then be fully" proved that submarines can cross the Atlantic, a fact asserted by engineers during the past year. It will ho a year of great misfortune and discomfort i among . the reigning families of Europe. Not only such prominent figures as the Kaiser of Germany and the King of England are in danger, but many minor sovereigns will meet disaster. The King of Greece, we are told, will be separated from his wife. The King of Sweden, who is of French descent, will finally divorce his wife, who is a relation of the Kaiser. The Tsarina of Russia will become hopelessly ill. King Ferdinand of Bulgaria will perish by a bomb. A German princess related to the Kaiser will run away with the gardener at the family castlo.

It will be an epoch of revolution and innovation in the conservative Orient. The old Arabian Empire, once ruled over by the celebrated Calinh Hnrun-Al-Bashid. will be restored at Bagdad, while the Turkish Empire will be annihilated. Constantinople will become a free international city, where all the world may meet on equal terms. Several aeroplanes will cross the Atlantic Ocean in tho autumn quarter, and convincing evidence will bo furnished of the existence of a sea serpent over 200 feet in length in the Pacific Ocean.
