LODGE MEETINGS
Tha Rising Star Juvenile Temple, No. 8, 1.0. G.T., mot in St. Peter's Mission Hall, Taranaki Street, on Thursday, Sister Mrs. A. E. Roberts, superintendent, presiding. The Temple was honoured by a visit from Sister Bennett, of the Harmony Lodge,' No. 48, 1.0. G.T., of Sydney, who conveyed the greetings of that Lodge to the Temple, and also spoke on the Lodges generally. For the evening's programme, the following members contributed items :—Sis. I'. Adams, pianoforte solo and recitation; £>is. Bennett, recitation; Brol Haley, songs; Sisters G. Duncan, Lea Roberts, L. Anderson, E. Burton, and Bros. A. Smith and W. Smith, each a recitation. The Temple closed at 7.<10 p.m., a very pleasant evening having been spent. The 1.0. G.T., Star of Wellington Lodge, No 12, met in St. Peter's Mission Hall, Taranaki Street, on Thursday, Bro. Rigarlsford, C.T., presiding. There were a good number of visitors present. One of the visitors, Sis. Bennett, conveyed to the Lodge the greetings of the Harmony Lodge, No. 48, 1.0. G.T.,. of Sydney. The greetings wore reciprocated. Si 6. Bennett spoka of the Lodges and Good Templary in general of Sydney. She reported that the 1.0. G.T. Lodges there had worked hand in hand with the Temperance Alliance in the agitation for 6 o'clcck elosing ol' hotels. It was learned with regret that Sis. Oliver was leaving the district, and sho was granted a clearance card, out of recognition for her past services rendered to tho Lodge. Refreshments were handed round by members, who were responsible for th'o evening's programme. The following members. contributed items -,-t-Sis. Duncan, recitation; Bros. Howitt anil Burton, 60ng (duot); Bro C. Collins, recitation: Sis. L. Weston, song. Bro. Ingram, P.C.T , is responsible for next Thursday's programme. A meeting of the Island Bay Lodge, U..-1.0.1)., was held on Thursday, ArchDruid Bro. H. J. Crowes presiding over a good attendance of mom'bors- It was decided _tn pay an official visit to iliu Coronation Lodge on March 21, when Bro. Beer will be initiated as district President for the ensuing term. The invitation from the Royal Arch Chapter to enter the ritual competition was accepted.
