■ 9'A' most interesting and instructive lecture on "Outposts" was delivered by Captain SKnn to tlie members of the Lower Hutt Platoon on Thursday ov.ening. The lecturer, who illustrated , his remarks per medium of the blackboard. was followed with the closest . interest and attention. At the close of the address questions were invited and answered. Captain Slinn kiudly offered to give further addresses on tnattors of interest to the Reserve, and his services were promptly accepted. Shooting' was held afterwards.'; The lighting arrangements' of the rifle range have been greatly improved, and. tlie platoon , is to bo congratulated on having one of the best equipped ranges in tlie Dominion.. Hie first match with ketone for the Wilford Cup will ho fired on the Hutt rango on the 22nd Instant. Lieutenant Anderson was 0.0: : evening's parade of the Petone Unit of the National Reserve.
