359,716 IN FOREIGN COUNTRIES. The Japanese Foreign Office has recently published tables showing tho number and professions of tho Japanese residing in foreign countries says cent mail advices to the "liast and West News." According to the figures, tho Japanese residing in foreign countries at the end of last June numbered 359,716, of whom 240,423 wero men and 1 the _ remaining 179,393 were women and girls. As compared with tho corresponding period of the preceding year, an increaso of. 38,454 is shown. When they are classified as to tho place of their residence, Asia oomea first, with 134,498, of whom 73,247 are males and the remaining 61,251 are females. They were distributed as follows:— ' .
