JUDGMENT SUMMONSES. ■ In the following judgment summons eases,- the defendants wero ordered to pay tlie amounts owing on or before March 23 next, in default to undergo various terms of imprisonment:—H. A. Smith and Co. v. W. H. M. Stevens, £53 17s. lOd.; Wellington Plumbers' Union v. Nat Crawford, £1 lis.; Wellington Freezing Works Employees' Union v. A. Skinner, £1; W. Veitch v. A. E. Exley, £37 12s. lid.; Frost and Frost v. J. H. Thomas, £3 17s.

POLICE CASES Six members of the crew of the steamer Kumara pleaded guilty to a charge of being absent from'their vessel without first having obtained leave. Thoy were Francis Communis, Luon Coleman, Ernest Mills. William Quantrill, Charles Sadington, and George Minns. According to the police report, all the men wero good workers aboard ship, but could not be relied upon when they came ashore and commenced drinking. It was desired that they should be detained until tho vessel sailed about the end of the present week. In each case a sentence of three days' imprisonment. was imposed, the accused being ordered to pay costs of tho miminonsos. They will be placed aboard the vessel, if she sails before the expiry of the sentences. Nellie Woodbridgc, who was said to be in a shocking state of ill-health, pleaded guilty to a charg<3 of being a rogtie and a vagabond, and t was sentenced to six months' impri sonment. An old man, named John Edmaston, was convicted r.nd discharged for drunkenness. He was also charged with being an idle .and disorderly person in that he was without sufficient lawful means of support.. Inspector Ilendi'O.v asked that on this charge the accused should bo remanded for a week, as lie was badly in need of a Mod cleanin<r. In the meantime, the Charitable Aid authorities could be communicated with to see if Kdmaston could be admitted to the Ohiro Homo. The Magistrate granted, the remand. Donald M'Donnld did not appear to answer a charge of drunkenness, and lie, was ordered to forfeit his bail (£1). Three firat-offan'liin! fimbriates were convicted and discharged.

JUVEXTT.E COUNT. I Mr, D, U. A. Ooopor, S.M., dealt with

a number of cases in tuc' Juvenilo Court yesterday morning. Soven youths were convicted of assaulting two small boys on the Happy Valley Beach. Ono of tho offenders had previously been before tho Court, and ho was committed to tlio Weraroa Training Farm. Four othern wero fined 10s. each, while the romaining two were discharged with a caution. A boy, L5J' years of age, pleaded guilty to the 'theft of two sums of money from his employers. ,Eo was remanded for a weo.k for sentence, m ardor that his parents might bo communicatcd with. Bail was allowed in the sum of £25. A charge of breaking a street lamp at Kilbiriiie was preferred against a small boy, who pleaded guilty. His father was ordorod to make good the damage. Ot'her cases were., before the Court, but conviction i wure not recorded. In all thirteen juveniles appeared before tho Magistrate at tlio sitting.
