Competition was fairly keen throughoxiv , thfc ealo ( .<uui a good clearance was made at the followiug rates:—W.f. woolly lambs, | »3 > w.f. shorn lambs, 13s. 3d.; smalt iambs, 10s.; mixed age ewes, 13.5. Id. to 195.; S.D. rains, 2J to 3gns. Messrs. W. aud G. Turnbnll and Co., Ltd., re/port having held their usual weekly sale in thejr Waipoua sal 6 vards, on-Wednesday. A good yarding of sheep and cattle came forward, but difl not meet wit-h the competition of late sales, which was rather surprising owing to Uie good rain having sot in, but a good clearance was made art the follow--ing rates Fat i ewes, 225.; f.m. ewes, 13s. to 155." 2d.; poor ewes. 10s.; 6-tooth to f.m. ewes, i7s. 5d.; 2-tooth to f.m. ewes, 17s. 2d.; 2-tootli wethers, 215.; small, 17s. Messrs. Dalgety and- Uompany, Limltea, report having held •&, most successful clearing sale at Mr, Mungavin's yards, at Porirua, on Monday, when tliey offered some excellent lines of shecip on behalf of 3Tr. J. Honorc, who .has lately disposed of his property. A few outside entries were also submitted, and fn most instances some were sold at full market rates, The demand lor the lambs was a little. slacU, tais no doubt" being accounted for by tho prevailing dry weather. Mr. Houore'w sftcop came forward in good order, and txio breeding ewes specially -were a tiptop lino; 180 of these were sold under spirited competition, at 275. Other sales were as under:—l 72 good woolly lambs, 1 lus dd.; medium 2 and-.'Hooth. wethers, 22s 7d.; aged ewes, 16s. Id.; aged llomney 23£ns. On account Mr. W. fr*i\rman. I9j forward 4-tooth wethers, 235. lOd. Account Mr. P. Mungavin, medium &tooth wetners, 20s. Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Limited, report.—At the Levin- sale, on* Wednesday, a heavy yarding of sheep and a good yarding of cattle came forward. Competition was good, especially for sheep an J all classes of steers were in demand. In sheop there.- wore some really good lines, and good rates wero made for all lots offered. In the cattle yards some good pens of 3i-year-old 6te©rs were yarded; and keen competition took place for these. The principal sales wero as under:—On account Messrs. Gardiner and Sons: Prime fat ewes, 255. Account other vendors; Prime fat ewes, 235.- 6d.; fat wethers, 245. Bd.; medium woolly jambs, 14s. lOd to 15s. 3d.; poor-conditioned s.m. ewes, 19s. to 21s. id.; store ewes {large entry), Us. lCd. to 145.; cull lambs, £5 !>s. to £6 4s; Itomney rains, 255. to £4 45.; fat cows. £7 10s. to £8; 2-year-old steers, £5 to £5 55.; forward ewpty cows, £s'2s. 6d.; 3-year-old steers, £8 2s. 6d.; forward Si-year-old bullocks, £11 ss.
