CRIMINAL SESSIONS
NAPIER CIRCUIT. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Napier, March 8. 'At the Supreme Court criminal sessions at Napier, Pekana to Reu iva: charged with altering a chqquo drawii in the name of another Maori for £5 18s, Gd. to £200 18s. 6d., and obtaining the money from , the bank. The jury failed to agree, and were discharged. A new trial was ordered. Elizabeth Russell, alias Gibb, alias Davis, was charged with abandoning a child under two years of ago at Napier Hospital on May 6, 1915.' She was convicted and orrlered to come up for sentence when called upon. GREYMOUTH SESSIONS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Creymouth, March 9. The Supremo Court criminal sessions opened this morning, with five cases for all of which true bills were returned! William Gamer (charged with indecent assault) and Michael Murphy (charged with indecent, assault) .were'acquitted Walter Hargreavcs, convicted of alt unnatural offence, was remanded for sentence. _ Charles Edward Miller (false declnra tion under the Marriage Act) was con. victcd and ordered to come up for sen tence when called upon. George Nolson (charged with attempt* ed race) was acquitted.
