Caldwell, assistant-purser of the Monowai, signed off that veseel yesterday. lie will proceed to Sydney on Thursday, there to join the lii-it-ai in the same OT Mr C Munn, of the Auckland office of'.the Union Company, will join tho Monowai as assistant-purser at Auckland. Mr. W. Hams, mate of the. Wairau, has come ashore. Mr. N. Kitching, third engineer of the Waimea, having come ashore, Mr. M. O'Sullivan has joined the vessel in his place. Mr. A. Eaddon, chief steward of the Mapourika, has signed off that vessel. The consistent steaming of tho Riverina was once more demonstrated on her trip to Svdney last week. She left Wellington at 5.45 p.m. on Thursday last, and berthed' at the Sydney wharf at 8.30 o'clock on Monday morning. The journey across the 'i'asman was thus. done in a little over three and a half days. The Rarawa, which is engaged in the New Piymouth-Ouehunga servi'ie, was to come down to Wellington to go on the Slip for overhaul on Friday next. She will not now arrive here until the foUowing" Friday. With, the hulk Enterprise in tow, the Ngakuata left port shortly after 4 o'clock . yesterday afternoon for Wanganui. Owing to Captain Hooper having sprained his ankle, the Amoknra's departure for her annual visit to outlying islands has been postponed some tnree or four days. Owing to o. delay at Sydney the Manuka will not clear that port for' Wellington until Friday. She will" in consequence be a day late here, arriving, it is expected, on Tuesday. The Blackball Company's collier Ngatoro arrived last night from Mahurangi. She will probably get away for Wanganui this afternoon. Messrs. Hatriek and Co.'s Tainui left Waitara last night for Wellington with a cargo of pelts for transhipment. She is due here this evening, and will, it is expected, get away for Waitara again on Friday. ' With dairy produce for transhipment, the Corinna is due to-morrow from New Plymouth. On Friday 6he will leave again for Dunedin direct. ■ Leaving' Gisborne at noon to-day, the Kowhai is expected in port on Friday. The same day she will depart for New Plymouth. At noon to-day tho Kamo is listed to depart for Greymouth. She is due back hero on Sundaj, ' Tho Kaitangata is scheduled to leave to-day for Westport to reload for. Wellington. Sho is due back on Saturday. Although scheduled to depart for Westport on Monday night, the Kamona did not get away for the coast until last evening. Shortly after 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon, the Tutanekai went out into Cook Strait to repair a cable. Tho Kiritona.is expected to arrive in Wellington this morning from Napier. After loading oil from the baraue Golden Gate, sho. will' probably leave for Napier in the evening. ' Tho Shu-w-Savill liner Kumara., from Liverpool, via Australian ports, is due to , arrive here on March 15. Tlio Awaliou, which left Foxton yesterday morning, was stuck in the river for an hour, and. as , a consequence did not arrive until last night. She has about 800 bales of flax to discharge here, after which she will sail for Greymouth to load coal for Wanganui. The following officers are associated with Captuin J.
