The. local wheat market is steadier, and there lias been no further fall in prices. Business has been done at 4s. 2d. to 4s. 3d. at country stations for milling wheat. Local priccs of flour are unaltered, but for shipping it is easier in consequence of the competition of southern mills. Pollard.—The shipping quotation is £7. Oats.—The market is unchanged. Thero is very good inquiry- owing ,to short stocks and the Southland crop not yet heing on the market. Customs duty collected at the port of Wellington yesterday amounted to £9846 Bs. 6d. Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., i eport having held a successful sale of dairy cows on hehalf of Mr. T. Field, Ohau, on Thursday, March 2.
