WIHARAPA CARNIVAL

l"OR WOUNDED SOLDIERS' FOND. ' A patriotic carnival, extending over two days, begins at Masterton to-morrow. It has beeu promoted by the Wairarapa Friendly Societies, and organised by Mr. John Hopkins, \Vho makes a feature of this work. The programme includes a wide variety of attractions. A spectacular pageant will be provided in which the seven candidates in tho "Queen" competition will be seen with their suites. Firo brigade competitions, Maori dances, Highland dancing, and evening Biasquerades will fill up two days of merry-making. Three bands will assist in the musical portion of the entertainment.
