Before he enlisted he was employed at Arthur's Pass by the Public Works Department. THE INQUEST. Yesterday afternoon Mr. D. G. 'A. Cooper, Coroner, held an inquesttouchingthe death of Private Wallace. One i police who gave evidence stated that he was of opinion that Wallace had been standing between the carnages when the train started, knocked him down, and ran over him. The Coroner found that death was accidentally causcd, and that 110 oiie *vas blameworthy.
