HUN SUBMARINE POLICY

Curiosity more than trepidation has been aroused by tho boasted initiation of the new German submarine policy. It is agreed that Germany may have a ■surprise—possibly a new controlled torpedo or submarine capable of cutting nets. Bookings for the Atlantic pasKago are unaffected. TWO STEAMERS SUNK BY SUBMARINES ; (Rec. March 4, 0.45 a.mi) • Lcntiori, March 3. A German submarine sank the British - steamer Thornaby (1782 tons). All tiie crew excepting three 1 were drowned. All Austrian submarine torpedoed the Swedish steamer Torborg (1266 tons) in the Mediterranean. The crew was rescued.
