NAVAL ADVISER APPOINTED

In the House of Commons, the Prime Minister (Mr. Asquith) announced that Rear-Admiral De' Chair will be the flagofficer, advising the Foreign Office on blockade Questions. [Rear-Admiral Dudley do Chair, C.8., M.V.0., Admiral of the Training Service since 1914, was bom in August, 1864, ivas educated on H.M.S. Britannia, and entered the Royal Navy in 1878. He served in the Egyptian War. In 1902 he was appointed Naval Attache to the United States _of North and South America. Then, in turn, he commanded the Bacchante, Cochrane, and Colossus. From 1910 to 1912 he was Assistant-Controller of the Navy, and from 1912 to 1914 Secretary to tie First Lord of the Admiralty.] " ' "
