A chauffeur named Wilr ilam Haines was found dead beneath a motor-car, covered with a rug. He had four bullet wounds in the head, and there u;ere bloodstains on various parts of the car, which was sent from Melbourne in response to a telephone message, the caller giving the name of Lustrange. An hour after the departure of the car it was discovered standing on the road, and Haines dead. The police have ascertained that there is no one of the name of Lestrange at the address given. The police have no clue.
