The receipts woroFebruary, s £0941 3s. 3d.; January (since last meeting), £104 9s.■ fid.; total, £10,045 12s. lid,., and the payments, £10,343 9s. 2d. j £2336 19s. The statement, was approved. SCHOOL AVORKS. The following recommendations of the Works Committee were approved:— Levin.—That the board undertake to pay half cost of shed required,. up t» £0 55., 011 condition that an equal siirn is raised locally; . and that tho residcrice be included in the drainage undertaking 011 tho terms of contribution offered by tho head teacher. Marauui.—Application for retaining wall declined in the meantime. To Aro Infants. —Application 1 toi wardrobe for teachers declined; 'suitable hooks to bo provided. _ South Wellington.—Grading school site: Committee to be informed that t'h» time is inopportune for so large an undertaking, and-that, in any event, the 1 board regrets it would not tie in a position _to -undertake the work unless a considerably larger local contribution were made. Johnsouville.—Drainage: Visit to be paid to discuss tho matter with tha committee. ' ■ 'Training College.—Corporation to be asked to undertako fencing on tie street-line at the cost of tho boaid, estimate £5,105.; material for clnsoboard fence to be provided at tho caietaker's cottagc. Berhampore.—Board cannot see its way to comply with the. request for right-of-way oyer tho school site.. Maranui.—Board to provido a strip of asphalting, 15 feet, round the new building, provided a local contribution of £7, 10s. is made. . _ Petone.—Asphalting: That, in the circumstances existing, the board cannot undertake the work 011 the basis suggested, but will be prepared to undertako it on the basis of £ for. £ subsidy on money raised for the purpose. ■ ' TENDERS. The following tenders were accepted: Mount Coolc Boys', painting; etc., H. T. Pitcher; Mt. Cook Infants', painting, etc., J. Sparks and Sons; Te Aro Main and Infants', repairs, painting, etc., F. O. Standidgo; Roseneath. asphalting, Sargeant and Elton. Respecting the erection of the school at Pirinoa, to be undertaken by labour under tho supervision of the cleric of works and foreman. The chairman stated that they had advertised the con-' tr.icfc several times, but none of tho tenders had been satisfactory. Tho price was always too high, The secretary announced that Mr. Geo. Hume had promised the sum of £G0 towards tho erection of tho school residence.
