HEALTH TALKS TO SCHOOL CHILDREN
*— -i— SUGGESTION- FOR PLTJNKET NUHSISS. ■ ' At the monthly meeting of the Education Board, held yesterday, a letter was received from the Society for the Protection of the Health of Women and Children (Hutt .Branch), asking the board's permission for the Plunket Nurse to give health talks to pupils in the Hutt Valley Schools. The chairman (Hon. J. G. W._ Altken), whilst acknowledging the 'society's good intentions, said that if they went as far as to give this, society the permission they asked, they wotfld have to give the fcama permission to twenty or thirty other societies. Ho was of opuifon that the request should be respectfully declined. Mr. A. W. Hogg did not agree with the chairman. He thought that the society was to ho encouraged, and that the addresses t.liey would give would he of great value to the pupils. Sir. T. Moss was also of that such health talks might bo beneficial. Mr. W. H. Field asked jf the Plunket • nurses were capable of giving such ii* Btruction. The chairman: ''Well, that's anoftiei point we don't know mftch about." Mr. C. M.
