« OBJECTION TO EJfPLOYEES' REPRESENTATIVE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, February 28. In the Arbitration Court Mr. llosser introduced the ' subject of Mr. Scott's appointment as employers' representative. Ho said that while Mr. Scott was regarded as a fair and just opponent of*labour, the. unions were constrained to draw the attention of the Court to allegations as recorded in Hansard last session, that the Employers' Federation subsidised Mr. Scott's appointment oil the Arbitration Court Bench £350 a year, making the appointment worth £850.
His Honour said he could not allow the. position of any member :if tho Court to be discussed. Mr. Scott was appointed by the employers, his appointment was gazetted, and it was conclusive that ho was not disqualified by reason of the position he held as secretary of the Otago Employers' .Association. Any question, if there was one, as to his position on the Arbitration Court must be raised in another Court.
