This fund is not- connected with tho Belgian Stelief I'uitd whioh exists for the purpose of relieving distress , iii Belgium. The. Kel'ugeo Food 3?und is administered by a strong Lond«jn committee, of which Mr. Frank Kitchener is/ chairman,' and its object is to -lock- after 'such Belgians in England who are utterly destitute and" unable to either work or light, and also to help the sick .and wounded. Contributions of meat, butter, and clreese. have been coining in freely, but the London committee find it most difficult to cope with the growing demands made upon it. The New Zealand Government have given froe railago to all ports, and we have the authority from the Imperial Government to ship free to' London all donatiuns. A considerable quantity of meat has already been gent, and the dairy factories thro ughout New Zealand arc responding generously in the matter of butter and cheese. Borne companies have very kindly agreed to collect' 1 and hold any gifts that may be maSe''and advise us, 'when we will attend to tlf®-railing and shipping of same. Second-class mutton is most suitable for oui- requirements, and wo would Be grateful if the donors would allow us to retain;the proceeds of skins and fat. This fund is the sole, support of many hundreds of refugees, and the numbers are increasing daily. : We, therefore, invite your :co-operation and assistance in, procuring donations of meat from , your clients, and would suggust thnti'jouv buyers'might help us considerably,''in bringing the matter before thoir farmer friends.
