WORKING MEN'S CLUB PICNIC

Over 200 D were present at the annual picnic of the Wellington Working Men's Club, which was held in fine weather at Day's Bay on Saturday. As is usual with the club a special and entirely successful effort was made to give tho children a real good time, but adults as well as children pronounced 'the outing as thoroughly enjoyable. During the day toys were given to every child present, so that, win ' or lose, every ruvenile returned to town a winner. The following ai ; o the results of the sporlo:—

Married women's race —1, Mrs.Harris; 2, Mrs. Dorring; 3, Mrs. Payne. Club championship—l. Baillio: 2, Hunt; 3, J. Wood.

TJiree-legged race—l, Hunt «nd Baillie; 2, Austin and "Woods. The General Committee of tho picnic were Messrs. W. Naughton, L. Hennessy, J. Leys, F. Meyer, A. Hutcliings, J. Coulter, B. Finucano and T. M'Elliott. Mr. E. Maco was chairman, Mr. T. Snrth wss serretary, nnd Mr. D. M'Phee was handicapper and starter.
