The liner Somerset i» to leave Sydney shortly for Whangarei to commence Homewari wading. After calling at Auckland, Tokomaru Bay, and Napier, she vfill come on to Wellington, and will, it is expected, sail for- Home at the end of March. ,

The South Taranaki Steamship Company's Hawera is to go on the slip on Monday for painting and cleaning. The auxiliary scow Te Aioha is due here within a few days from Napier to load timber for Wairoa.

The Shaw-Savill steamer Waiwera is expected to leave the Bluff about 6 o'clock this morning for Lyttelton. The Paloona arrived in port early yesterday morning from tho south. At midday to-day she trill be dispatched for Melbourne direct.

The Kamo i 6 cxpected to arrive from Groymouth on Sunday. She is listed to return to the West Coast port on Wednesday. The Komata. is expected to leave for Westport on Monday. She will load there for Wellington, arriving hero on Thursday next.

At five o'clock to-night the Corinna is to sail for Dunedin direct.

The Petono is expected in port from Lyttelton on Monday. She will sail the same day for Wanganui. After discharge of her cargo, the Nga-kut-a, -which ojrived in port eoTly yesterday morning, will, it is expected, get away for Greymouth to-day to load again for Wellington. She is due back here on Tuesday next.
