Markham asked whether Mr. Asguith had seen Mr. Jas. Allen's (New Zealand Dcfcnco Minister), complaint that the Army Council had delayed acceptin™ New Zealand's offer to provide their own hospitals for tlieir expedition. Mr. Asquith replied: "Mr. Allen's cablegram was dated March 10. and our acceptanco was cablcd on March 16. This interval was necessary in order to consult the authorities in Egypt."
