FORTNIGHTLY MEETING. 'Hie Mayor (Mr. J.. P. Luke), Councillors W. Hildreth, 11. A. Wright, W. J Thompson, T. Bush, W. H. Bennett, J. Fuller, j;* Hutchesou, G. Frost, W. H. P. Barber, A. M. F. Luckio and J. Godber, were present at tho fortnightly meeting of the Wellington City Council held last, evening. Tho following recommendations of the Finance Committee were adopted: "That a lease of certain land 011 the Hutt Road bo granted to the Onslow Borough Council for the erection of a fire station, the rental to be a peppercorn one, and the lease to contain a condition that tho land shall revert to tho corporation at any time tho council shall determine." "That .the council a.dliere to the tonus of their previous decision in regard to an cxchaligo of land between the owner of certain land at tho Wni-nui-o-Mata Catchment Area and tho corporation, as recommcndcd by ' tho ,• City .Valuer.! 1
"That tlie request of the Vogeltown and Mornington. Electors' Association, for the opeuxnc of new roadway in the John Street Reserve, between Hutcheson Wallace Street, be granted, aiul that the details affecting such proposal be left to the Reserves Committee and the City Engineer to settle." .
