; 6 STATEMENT BY HON. W. H. ' HERMES. By Telegraph-Press Association. Hamilton, February 21. The railway trouble was mentioned to the Hon. W. H. Berries at Frnnkton and ha refused to add anything to whai had already been said by tho Premier that the matter was one for Cabinet to decide. He would not commit himself to a statement on tho matter be--s'ond the comment that an all-round increase of n shilling a day would mean an additional expenditure of £200,000, which, of course, would have to be met somehow —whether by additional taxation or not would have to bo decid'ed when the question of the demands hod been settled. The danger was, he added, that if the demands were conceded thcro would be similar action in regard to tho remainder of the Public 'Service.
