PRAYER AND VICTORY.
Sir, —Alter the excellent leader which appeared iu your columns in support(if Admiral lieatoy's remarks on tiio in;i<-i tanco of player at this crisis, ;t is unnecessary to reply at any length to \i.u; correspondent ''John Plougtmwn,' who seeks to discourage and pour ridicule upon the efforts of the eatw.-tl p.'iplu of the Dominion who desire to oxeioise the power which still exists m prayer, and which will remain while our Great High Priest and King is still in the place of authority at God's right hand. I am of opinion that "John Ploughman" might have more fittingly subscribed himself as "Sanballat, the Horonite," as evidently he has not experienced the fact that prayer changes things. It is stated of Canada at tho present time that evidences point to a spiritual awakening never before experienced to .a _ like degree throughout the whole' Dominion.. Experiences may be taken frojn one capital, AVestern City, which is typical of prevailing thought and action. Here the laymen meet weekly at; the noon hour at the } .M.C.A. for intercessory prayer, and the ministers also weekly for one hour.. It would be impossible, we are told, to describe the earnestness of these meetings. _ Christians of the Dominion, pray on without ceasing for the King and all in authority, that our Empire may still be preserved, for our Allies, and for our brave defenders on land and sea. —I am, etc.,' D. 0. M'CLAY. '
