Sir,—As a soldier's mother, I should much like to express my appreciation of those members of the community who are interesting themselves in the above. 1 have patiently waited for twelve months or more for the movement to come from the publicans themselves, but Imvo waited in vain. Jt would have boon a grand chance for j them to have shown their patriotism, which fact people would not have readily forgotten. 1 was shocked to see tho tone of three anonymous writers in your paper yesterday on this serious matter, and at such a grave time.—l am, etc., MARY E.
