ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES

AN INQUEST. At the Wellington Hospital yesterday afternoon Mr. D. G. A. Cooper, Coroner, held an inquest into the circumstances connected with tho death ol Allan Earle, 10 years of age, who was brought from Johnsonvillc to the Hos- ! pita I at 10 p.m. on Friday last, and who died in the institution on Saturday morning. Sergeant O'Hnlloran represented the police at tho inquest. Deceased had been swimming on Thursday evening, and was found unconscious in his room on Friday morning, his death following two unsuccessful operations at the Hospital. Dr. Stewart Scoullar stated that "death was the result of pressure on the brain caused by cerebral haemorrhage. There was no evidence of external injury, and, /is the deceased had apparently suffered from cardiac disease, ifc was possible i.hatitho shock of diving into the water could bring about the haemorrhage. There was no evidence that deceased had met with any accident while swimming, while there was evidence (that of his father) that he had suffered from headaches for a long time past. The Coroner's verdict was that death was due to haemorrhage of the brain. SUDDEN DEATH. By Telegraph—Press Association. Marton, February 23. E. R. Fallawell, a resident of Auckland, died suddenly this morning at the Junction Hotel.. Marton, owing' to the rupture of a blood vessel.
