YACHTING
Last Saturday the Port Nicholson Yacht Club held events for first and second-class yachts. The entries for th© first-class were: —Rona, scr.; Wairere No. 2, limin.; Viola, 7min.; Galatea, 7min.; White Wings, 7min.; Muritai, 12min.; Windward, 14min.; and lolanthe, 19min. A fresh single-reef N.W. wind was blowing. The Rona went to tho front and stayed there. The Ttnishing times were: Rona, 4.43 i; Wairere, 4.511; Viola, 4.57; Windward, 5.3;. Galatea, 5.5; Muritai, 5.5; and lolanthe 5.6.5. The corrected times place tho Hona first, lolanthe second, and Viola third.
The second-class event brought out only four starters: Rawene, scr.; Lizzie, 6mln.; Nancy Stairs, Bmin. Amai did not start, and Miru did not complete the course. The corrected times place Nancy Stair first, Raweno second, and Lizzie third.
A launch raco was to have been held, but is postponed until one evening this week. The entries aro Mr. V. Brooke Taylor's Maui and Mr. Ralph Millman's Daisy. ■
