After a particularly calm passage, the Manuka arrived in Wellington direct from Sydney at 5 o'clock yesterday afternoon. She berthed at No. 1 Queen's Wharf. Her cargo included transhipments ex Nikko Maru, Wodonga, El Kautara, Sonoma, MeLTTna, Wagarna, Ujina, Empire, and Columbia. WAGAMA TO LOAD HERE. The local agents, Messrs. Geo. H. Scales, Ltd., have received ad.vice that the Barber Line steamer Wagarna, now at Sydney, wiil leave that port on Wednesday next for Wellington, bringing her original cargo from New York. After discharge here she wilt take in cargo for New York and Boston, proceeding thence to New York, vSa, Capfc Horn. It is expected that she will ciear Wellington on March 4. THE ANTIOPE DEPARTS. We barque Antiope, which has been do. toyed in the stream for some days consequent upon a shortage of seamen, left her anohoTage at 10 o'clock yesterday morn, ing for Kaipara. NIAGARA AT AUCKLAND. The Niagara, arrived at Auckland yesterday morning from Sydney en route to Vancouver. She will leave for the distant port to-day, arriving there, it is expected, about March 9.

DSLPHIO DUE WEDNESDAY. At '8 o'Siock on Sunday morning th« liner Delphic arrived at Picton from Newcastle. After loading at that port sho will Gail for Wellington, and will, it is expected, arrlvo to-morrow.

MELBOURNE STILL DISCHARGING. The Melbourne is still discharging her cargo of Newcastle coal at the Miramar Wharf. BERWICK LAW DEPAETS. The New Zealand Shipping Company's chartered liner, Berwick Law, which has been loading at the King's Wharf for Eome days, left for LorifißJi yesterday afternoon at 4 o'clock. Keeper M'Fadden has resigned from the Brothers' Lighthouse, and he is to be succeeded by Mr. Cromble (a returned soldier), who proceeds to his new position on tho flinemoa, which leaves to visit the Oook Strait lighthouses to-day. Tolegraphic advice received last evening stated that the Defender arrived in the roadstead at Karamea at 10 o'clock yesterday morning from Wellington, and beiug' unable to work the bar, departed again for Hokitika. She arrived at Hokitika later in the day. The Waimea is eipected to arrive from Nelson to-day, and will, shortly after arrival, go on to the patent slip lor overhaul. The liner Bssoi Is expected to leave Auckland at mid-day to-morr.ow lor Gisborne to continue Homeward loading. The Amokura, owing to having called at Tauranga on the way down from Auckland, -will not now arrive in port until Thursday. The Cahopus is expected to leave on Wednesday for Westport. It iB probable that she will return here on Saturday. The John, -which left for Wanganui yesterday afternoon, Is due back on Wednesday, leaving again on Thursday for Oamaru and Dunedin. At present at Tokomaru Bay tho liner Indrapura is expected to show up here on March 5. Tho New Zealand Shipping Company's liner Turakina, according to advice received here, loft Plymouth on February 17 for Auckland, *via Cape Horn and Hobart. The cargo carrier Waihemo' is listed to sail to-morow for Melbourne and Sydiiey. On Wednesday the Union' Company's Whangape is scheduled to clear for Suva and Vancouver. • The MonowaT is due at noon to-day from Lyttelton. She leaves for northern ports at 5 o'clock this afternoon. The Poherua and Kowhai are both listed to leave for the West Coast to-day. The Rowhai will, it is, expected, get away at noon. The Union Company advise that tho Flora will not leave for southern ports until to-morrow, when she departs for Timaru, iXun'aru, and Bluff. Laden with coal, the Waverley is expected to show up from Puponga on Thursday. Later in the day she will depart again for West Haven, returning from xnnt port on Friday -with timber.
