Turnbull and Co., Ltd., Levin and Co., Ltd., and Abraham and Williams, Ltd,, report as follows:—The annual ram j'air at Maeterton, conducted under, the auspices of the Agricultural and Pastoral Association, "was held on the Solway Showgrounds on' Thursday and Friday, a total flutry . of 2200 being passed through the ring. The attendance was satisfactory, buyers from a distance being present, Including representatives from Gisborne, and the South Island, including Blenheim and Utago. Additional interest was noticeable owing to the presence of a representative £rom the Argentine, -who operated freely tor stud Lincolns. • t An experiment was made this year of selling the stud 6heep iu a separate ring, t&e sale being conducted at the same time ae tfc/e flook sheep, which appeared anything but popular. With this exception the arrangements generally were found to work splendidly, and tho, sale went with- I ouVa;hitch from beginning, to end. The 1 ram fair committee, comprising Messrs. W. )J. Waison and Joseph Morris, as usual put in e great deal of strenuous work. Tho Lincoln and Southdown flock sheep were offered the first dny, the demand for tfte latler, in sympathy with other markets, not being as • good as usual. Liucoins, However, met a spirited sale, and some very satisfactory averages have to be reported for good sheep. Romncy6 were disposed of the second day, and although the sale was in and out, good sheep were keenly sought after, and breeders generally appeared , lo be . satisfied at the prices realised. . - Appended is a record of the sales made: Flock'Lincolne.—Estate U.
