From a moderate start Palisade rushed to the front, liongahere moved out last. At tho mile Palisade was just leading Ardenvhor and Down. Entering the back stretch. At the five furlongs' post Borke's Drift ranged second to Palisade, who turned into the straight half a length clear, but in a fine race home Eorke's Drift won- by a head.
