TEMPORARY APPOINTMENTS TWELFTH CO To FfcATHERSON. The Twelfth Infantry Reinforcements lelt Trentham by train early yesterday morning to Featherston, reveille being sounded at 4 a.m. A large proportion of the troops were in the City on leave on Thursday night, the unusual number on leave, on the eve of a cliango of _ camps, being something of a surprise to the ladies in charge of the tea and supper arrangements at the Soldiers' Club, who estimated that tliero would not be a large number of men in town oil leave. There was ample refreshment for all, however, and the small staff of lady helpers worked with a will in seeing that every soldier was attended to. The Tenth Infantry Reinforcements, who are on a route march from Featherston, will march into Trent-ham Camp this afternoon. Featherston Camp. 2nd Lieut. A. R. Turner, Second Reserve Company, has been promoted lieutenant. The following temporary appointment* have been approved by the Camp Commandant:—l*to. H. H. Soldiers Concert at Trentham. An enjoyable concert was given last ovening in tho Methodist Institute Hall, the building being crowded. ChaplainCaptain AYalker presided, and items were contributed by Misses' Cass (Nelson), M. and E, Petherick, Master AYinstone M'Carthy, Messrs. Hanlon, Laslett Exton, and Harrup. Mcsdamea Uarcham and Harrup played the accompaniments. Encores wore numerous, the pride of place falling to Master M'Carthy, a clever little lad of less than seven summers, who, though billed for twice on the programme, had to ronder no fewer than seven items. Hearty cheers were given the perform, ers, the Misses Petherick for arranging, and for Messrs. Hill, Burgess, andMullins, who provided the motor-cars.
