THE LOST LINER SOCOTRA

The evidence given in the Board of Trade inquiry into the loss of tho P. and 0. liner Socolra (which was wrecked on the Frencli coast, near Boulogne) showed that the captain believed that the vessel was (if the French coast, and mistook a light on the French coast for Beachy Head. The captain attributed his error to a- strong southerly current setting in towards the ooast.
