SUMMARY AND FORECAST ' AT 4 P.M. YESTERDAY. Present indications are for southerly winds, strong to (tale, and changeable and showery weather generally. The barometer is unsteady, but is due to rise everywhere 6hortly. In the northern and southernmost districts unsettled and squally conditions have prevailed, the effect of disturbances which have been located north and south of the Dominion. The central area of New Zealand hoe experienced more favourable weather owing to the neutralising effect of the two storms. Strong southerly winds have predominated in the TJorth Island while variable directions have been reported in the south, and gales abouf Poveaux Strait. %r L ,' . , ' D - °- BATES.
