PATRIOTIC EXHIBITION
EXCELLENT PROGRESS AT TOWN HALL. A visit to the Town Hall discloses ■that considerable progress has been made with the erection of the stalls in connection with the British Commercial and Industrial Patriotic Exhibition, to no opened by the Prime Minister on Saturday afternoon next. Mr. E. 1. Doddrell, exhibits manager, has a team ol carpenters busy erecting the framework of ttio stalls, and the floor spacp is now covered with the structures Ample space for gangways is provided, and each *tall will be well lit. day and night. The colour scheme for the draping of stalk is red and white, giving a pleasing effect, and well suited to the Display of the many and vnrioirs articles to be accommodated in the stalls. A special feature of the construction ia that not ,a single nail has been driven into tho floor of the hall. Mr. Doddrell has his work so far advanced as to allow exhibitors to commence fitting their stalls up with exhibits to-day, ana lie will now _ commence the decoration of the building and approaches. A programme ol entertainment has been provided for each evening, nud tho main feature of the Exhibition —instruction —is Sept steadily in view by tho provisioii amongst tho arrangements ot instructive addresses to be delivered by Ministers of the Crown, leading members' of the Hoii6c of Representatives and of the business community. During the afternoon sessions tho ladiea of the Anti-German League, acting under the direction of Mrs. A. M'Vicar. will givo addresses on "How to Shop, and point out how much it means to the Dominion that first of all local industries must be supported, then articles of British make demanded before goods of other nations are purchased.
