SOLDIERS' DAY AT TE ARO BATHS. TJnder the auspices of tlie Wellington Amateur Swimming' Club, an afternoon meeting for soldiers was held at Te Aro Baths' on Saturday. The' function, though marred to a certain extent by tho ,bad .weather,i proved enough of a success to warrant the club' repeating the idea later on, when a radium wristlet .watch, presented by the president (Mr. J. P. Maxwell), will' be competed for. Tho Regimental Band, under Ser-geant-Major Fox, brightened the fixture with musical items.' The. club's president, in > welcoming the military competitors, referred' to the part taken inthe war by followers of tho sport, and mentioned that many of the Dominion's best swimmers had gone .to Trentham. 'Sergeant'Cooper'replied on behalf of the men.
