ALL FOR EMPIRE LEAGUE
FORMED BY COMMERCIAL ' TRAVELLERS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, February 10. At the annual conference of the Commercial Travellers and Warehousemen's Association to-night, it was deckled to constitute an ''All for Empire" League, cue of the principal objects being the •elimination of German" trade within the Empire by means of a prohibitive tariff, increased shipping dues 011 all German and present enemy vessels visiting New Zealand ports. Resolutions v;er© passed bv the conference approving of any scheme having for its object the elimination of enemy trade from the Dominion, and undertaking to bring before members of affiliated associations the necessity for an immediate active canvass towards the accomplishment of the suggestions set out ill the objects of the "All for Empire" League. Mr. S. A. Orchard, president of the conference, said lie was onite satisfied tliat enemy goods were still coming in. They were purchased in neutral c/nmtries in good faith, but they turned out to he enemy productions. He emphasised the necessity of Government action to prohibit enemy trade.
